According to reports, Weiss is suspected of using unauthorized access methods, potentially exploiting internal university systems or login credentials to snoop into email accounts connected to athletic staff or players. Some accounts may have been accessed without the users’ knowledge or consent.
University police and the FBI reportedly launched investigations into whether criminal hacking or impersonation occurred. Weiss has not publicly admitted wrongdoing.
