Alec Ohryn grew up in Oakland County and went to high school in Walled Lake. He majored in history at Oakland University before becoming an Honor Scholarship Recipient and earning his Juris Doctor from Western Michigan Thomas M. Cooley Law School, graduating with cum laude honors. During law school, Alec worked as a student attorney helping indigent clients through their family law matters for the Family Law Assistant Program.
Early in his legal career, Alec worked at Fieger Law, where his practice focused on automobile negligence, medical malpractice, and civil rights. While at Fieger Law, Alec had the opportunity to work on the Flint Water Crisis civil lawsuits. Since joining Marko Law, he has worked directly with Jon Marko, preparing each case to be tried before a jury. Alec is dedicated to fighting for justice and advocating for the disenfranchised.
He is admitted to practice in Michigan and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern Division of Michigan. Alec is a member of the Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ), the Detroit Bar Association (DBA), and Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA). He is a past Chair of the OCBA’s Special Purpose Committee – PALS (Providing Access to Legal Services).
Outside the office, Alec enjoys spending time with his family. This includes traveling and a yearly summer camping trip with his son. He is also an avid moviegoer, making it a point of habit to watch all Academy Award nominated best pictures annually.
