Detroit Resources
Shelter, crisis resource center, housing help and human trafficking and domestic violence services for homeless and at-risk girls and young women in Detroit.
If someone is in immediate danger, call 911.
Alternatives For Girls is a Detroit nonprofit on West Grand Boulevard that helps homeless and at-risk girls and young women avoid violence, exploitation and trafficking through shelter, outreach, housing support and workforce programs.
Young women fleeing an abuser or a trafficker often fall between adult DV shelters and youth services. AFG was built for exactly that gap and treats them with respect rather than suspicion.
Call the Get Help line; the site says you may need to leave a message and will be called back within 24 hours, so also try the main office during business hours if it is urgent.
Programs are for girls and young women who are homeless, at risk or being exploited; adult men and older adults should use other resources on this list.
