Detroit Resources
The City of Detroit's free job and training service connects residents with job openings, paid training, career coaching and support such as transportation or expungement help through its career centers.
Detroit at Work is the city's workforce development system, run with the Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation and Michigan Works. It operates several career centers around the city and an online job board.
After an injury, a wrongful firing or a criminal case, getting back to steady work is often the most urgent need. Detroit at Work offers free coaching, training programs and direct connections to employers who are hiring.
Start by registering online or calling the WORK line to be matched with a career center near you. Services are free, and many training programs pay a stipend while you learn.
Services are for Detroit residents and job seekers; it is an employment program, not a legal office, and does not handle wage or discrimination complaints.
