Detroit Resources
Free 24/7 line for anyone in Wayne County facing a mental health or substance use crisis. Real counselors answer, can send a mobile crisis team, or connect you to walk-in crisis care.
If someone is in immediate physical danger, call 911.
DWIHN is the public mental health system for Detroit and all of Wayne County. Its helpline is answered around the clock by trained clinicians, and it also runs mobile crisis teams and 24/7 walk-in crisis centers in Detroit and Westland.
After an injury, an arrest, or a loss, the emotional weight can hit hard and at odd hours. This line gives you a real person to talk to at any time, at no cost, and can get a clinician to you without involving police unless there is an immediate safety threat.
You do not need insurance or an appointment. Children and adults can be seen at the Care Center on W. Milwaukee; the East Detroit and West Wayne centers are for adults only. Calls are confidential.
Open to anyone in Wayne County, no insurance, referral or appointment needed; it is a crisis and behavioral health line, not a legal service.
