The Sugar Law Center is a Detroit-based public interest law organization founded in honor of labor lawyer Maurice Sugar. It works with workers and community groups on economic and social justice cases.
Workers who have been underpaid, misclassified or retaliated against often cannot afford a lawyer. Sugar Law is one of the few Detroit organizations focused specifically on these problems.
