Therapy, psychiatric care, psychological assessments and family support for children and teens who have lived through trauma, plus foster care and respite programs.
The Children's Center has worked with Detroit families since 1929. Its Midtown campus offers behavioral health care, specialized trauma programs, family success services and child welfare programs under one roof.
Children carry the effects of a crash, violence or a parent's arrest differently than adults, and early support matters. The Center is set up to treat kids and to help parents understand what their child needs.
Call the main line to ask about intake; many services are covered by Medicaid through the DWIHN network. Evening hours Monday through Thursday help working parents. For an immediate crisis, start with DWIHN's 24/7 line instead.
Serves children, youth and their families in Wayne County; it is a treatment and child welfare agency, not a legal or emergency service.
