Detroit Resources
Manages child support, custody and parenting time orders in Wayne County cases. Provides case information, court forms, payment windows and motion scheduling.
The Friend of the Court is the arm of the Circuit Court that enforces and reviews child support and custody orders. Its public service area is on the first floor of the Penobscot Building downtown.
A serious injury can change your income overnight, and support orders do not adjust on their own. The FOC is where you ask for a review or learn how to file a motion to change an order.
Phone lines are open every weekday but in-person service is only Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Payments are made 24/7 through MiSDU at 1-888-604-7888, and case details are online at michigan.gov/michildsupport.
Only for existing Wayne County family court cases; FOC staff cannot give legal advice or act as your lawyer.
