Detroit Resources
County program providing congregate meals, home-delivered meals, liquid nutrition and referrals for seniors 60 and older in western Wayne County and Downriver.
Wayne County Senior Services is the county department that runs the senior nutrition program and connects older residents to other resources. It covers the western and Downriver communities outside Detroit.
After an injury or hospital stay, an older person may not be able to shop or cook. Home-delivered meals and a regular check-in are a practical safety net while the family sorts out longer-term care.
This is a nutrition and referral office, not an abuse investigation unit. For suspected abuse or neglect, start with police or Adult Protective Services and use this office for day-to-day support.
Meal programs are for seniors 60 and older (and spouses) in the 34 communities of western Wayne County and Downriver; home-delivered meals require being homebound.
