24-hour crisis line and a 67-bed secure emergency shelter for women escaping intimate partner violence, with case management, PPO help and a nurse navigator.
If someone is in immediate danger, call 911.
YWCA Interim House is Detroit's long-standing domestic violence shelter, run by the YWCA of Metropolitan Detroit. It pairs a secure residence with crisis support, housing and legal referrals, and help filing Personal Protection Orders.
A safe bed tonight is often what makes it possible to leave. Interim House gives women and their children a protected place to stay while advocates help them plan the next steps.
Always call the crisis line first; do not go to the administrative office expecting shelter. Space can be limited, and staff will help you find another safe option if beds are full.
Shelter is for survivors of intimate partner domestic violence; call the crisis line for intake, the shelter location is not public.
